We really had fun with it, finding a treatment (great research, Hawk!) & taking care of all our characters. Hehe... we also had KTDA's first nude scene (Prince!). Racy stuff!
What follows is a very very condensed version of the thread. Enjoy!
Chicken Pox
Connor: Pixie, you don't look so good, what's wrong?
Pixie: I don't feel good, and my back itches really bad.
*Jean lifts up the girl's blouse to see Pixie's back covered in red blisters.*
Todd: I have spots. *points to his arm*
Ammie: Me too!
*Some of the older kids start to panic--the Virus is back!*
Jean: Hawk! We need you to take a look at this!
*Hawk rushes to the main room.*
Jean: Pixie and others have the virus!
*Hawk whistles a high-pitched piercing note, and the panicked kids are shocked silent by the sound.*
Hawk: The Virus is gone--you can't get the virus.
Fox: Pixie has spots and so do some of the others--
*Connor shows Hawk Pixie's back and the others show their spots. The River Rats watch, fearful, afraid their world is about to crash again.*
Hawk: *facing the group, serious face* They have chicken pox. Don't you older ones remember? Fall is when chicken pox breaks out. That's what this is. Not Virus.
Fennec: So what do we do, Hawk?
Hawk: *frowns in thought* Well, we need to kill off the infection and dry out the spots. Best way is a strong, warm salt bath... but it'll hurt. For the itching, we'll cover the exposed areas with mud and wrap them up. As the mud dries, it will help remove more infection. The trick to beating chicken pox is fourfold: 1--kill the infection, 2--stay hydrated, 3--lower the fever, and 4--prevent secondary infections. One of the most important things is to keep things sterile as possible.
*It's not too long before several basins are near the fire, and a curtain partition is up. The fire is hot, and the room is warm and a little humid. The catnip and chamomile tea pots are sending off rich aromas. The baths begin.*

*The Misfits enter the River Rats camp. They pass a few kids who seem to be in shock.*
Sid: Where is Hawk? *yells* HEY, HAWK! Can you help? We think we may have the pox.
Hawk: *walks toward the Misfits* Who is sick?
Prince: Me and Adear got the pox. Can you help? We can trade.
Hawk: I can treat this, but its not very fun.
Prince: *slight smile* We'll take it. How bad could it possibly be? Bring it.
Hawk: *points behind them* That curtained-off area is divided in two. Go to the right side and soak in the basin. Shuck off all your clothes and cover yourself with the water--and I mean I want water over every inch of your skin including your hair. Tell me when you are done, and I will treat the rash. You can't do it yourself because the spots on your hands would ruin the purpose. I will get you some temporary clothing. Any questions?
Sid: *laughs* I'll be outside if you need me. Good luck, Prince!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
*Prince buries himself in the salt water a few good times, trying as hard as possible to ignore the burning.*
Prince: UUUGGGHHH!!! SHITT!! THIS BETTER WORK! IT DOES FEEL THRILLING THOUGH!
*Finally Prince climbs out of the water and walks over to Hawk.*
Prince: What's next on your torture list?
*Hawk picks up a pail of mud. She motions for Prince to go back behind the curtain.*
Hawk: It's not that bad. I could used Iodine--it's a lot worse and will turn you yellow. *examines the spread of his rash* You've got a lot going on there. Ok, now I paste you all over with this mud and wrap you up in these sheets. Then you get to do a mouth rinse with salt, then drink warm catnip tea. Hold out your arm.
*Hawk proceeds to treat Prince.*
*Without thinking, Adear runs over to the other side of the room and sees Hawk applying handfuls of mud to Prince who's standing in his birthday suit. Adear turns bright red and takes off at a run!*
